Wounded Warriors

Social Security Administration (SSA) representatives hold monthly workshops for U.S. Army soldiers assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit and case managers from the Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC) at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.  These workshops are designed to provide an overview of Social Security Disability benefits and work incentives available to Wounded Warriors. Further topics of discussion include how military service members can receive expedited processing of disability claims, the Ticket to Work program, resources available to providers who serve injured service members, and the convenience of filing a disability application online at www.socialsecurity.gov.  Representatives from Disability Determination Services (DDS) are also on hand to explain the medical decision process.  Following the briefing, service members have an opportunity to file a disability claim online with assistance from Social Security representatives in the base’s computer resource center.  All those in attendance are encouraged to register for my Social Security.
